Machine Learning Research at the University of Twente focuses on three themes:

Human Social Behavior Detection and Recognition
In this theme we apply and develop Machine Learning techniques for the detection and recognition of human behavior and social signals in order develop and design social intelligent systems.
Biometric Identification
In this theme we explore machine learning techniques for person recognition based on biometric traits, like face recognition, finger print recognition etc., mostly on image data.
Text Mining
In this theme we explore Machine Learning techniques for information retrieval and information extraction, for the structuring and ranking of natural language texts.
